Adani Power (APL) today announced that it has received a letter of award (LoA) from MP Power Management Company Limited (MPPMCL) for a 1,600 MW supply project in Madhya Pradesh.
The award consists of 800 MW under the original tender and an additional 800 MW utilizing greenshoe option, which is the first of its kind for a thermal power supply project in India. The supply will be at a tariff of ₹5.838 per kWh. The company will set up a 1,600 MW ultra-supercritical thermal power project in Anuppur district using the Design, Build, Finance, Own and Operate (DBFOO) model.
With commercial operation in 60 months from the appointed date, Adani Power plans to invest around Rs 21,000 crore for the plant and associated facilities, creating around 9,000–10,000 jobs during construction and close to 2,000 when operational. Coal supply to the project has been secured in accordance with the Government of India's SHAKTI policy.

Adani Power's fifth major win in the past year takes its total awarded capacity to 7,200 MW. In recent months, Adani Power secured 6,600 MW from Maharashtra, 1,600 MW from Uttar Pradesh, and 2,400 MW from Bihar, establishing itself as a key player in the power sector in India.
Operating 18.15 GW with 12 thermal plants, Adani Power is progressing with India's largest private sector capital expenditure program, with an aim to scale up to 41.87 GW by 2031-32, supporting India's base load power supply.
