Dassault Grows Pune Facility to Strengthen India Ties

French aerospace leader Dassault Aviation announced a significant expansion of its operations in India with the opening of new facilities for the Dassault Aircraft Services India   Engineering Center located in Pune, Maharashtra.

In a statement, the company indicated that this initiative aligns with the progress already achieved in fulfilling its obligations under the 'Make in India' policy. This new facility represents a crucial advancement in Dassault Aviation's enduring partnership with India's aerospace sector.

The company stated, "The expansion of the Engineering Center, which will double its capacity to host over 150 engineers, illustrates Dassault Aviation's commitment to cultivating advanced technological capabilities and nurturing local expertise for the advantage of its internal operations as well as those of its Indian and global supply chains."

Dassault emphasized that the enlarged Pune center highlights its strategy to enhance local design, engineering, and industrial capabilities while improving collaboration with Indian partners and suppliers.

Furthermore, the company noted that this initiative will also strengthen its offset commitments associated with the Rafale contract with the Indian Air Force.

“It also illustrates its commitment to meeting the offset obligations set out in the Rafale contract with the Indian Air Force,” Dassault Aviation added.

The Pune Engineering Center plays a crucial role in Dassault's extensive industrial footprint in India, encompassing collaborations in manufacturing, maintenance, and technology transfer.

This expansion occurs in the context of India's initiative for enhanced defense indigenization and increased involvement of the private sector in advanced defense manufacturing.
