Adani Cement, comprising Ambuja Cements and ACC, has emerged as a key contributor to the construction of the world’s highest railway arch bridge over the Chenab River in Jammu and Kashmir. The company supplied 65,000 metric tonnes of high-strength Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) 43 Grade, vital for the bridge’s structural integrity, according to a statement released on Wednesday.
Stretching 1,315 meters across the river, this steel arch bridge is built to brave howling winds and even earthquakes. It’s a true testament to what India can achieve. Indian Railways led the charge, with the Steel Authority of India Limited chipping in 16,000 tonnes of steel to bring it to life.
Adani’s cement was the go-to choice because it’s reliable, durable, and ready to stand up to the harsh mountain weather. Vinod Bahety, the head of Adani Group’s Cement Business, was all smiles, saying,“This project redefines engineering boundaries and contributes to national integration. Every bag of cement carries the weight of India’s progress.”
This bridge is more than just steel and cement—it’s a lifeline for remote communities, opening doors for businesses and bringing people closer. Adani Cement’s role shows they’re not just delivering materials but helping dreams take shape with quality and care for the environment.
