Spicejet said that, in preparation for the Winter Schedule 2025, it has inked lease agreements for the addition of eight more Boeing 737 aircraft. "With this, the airlines planned fleet additions rise to 18 aircraft, reinforcing its commitment to meet the rising demand for air travel during the upcoming festive and winter season, the company said.
The most recent announcement follows two previous leasing agreements that covered the addition of ten Boeing 737 aircraft to the fleet, which are expected to begin operating in October 2025.
The airline is adding eight more Boeing 737s to its fleet, bringing the total number of planned inductions to 18 aircraft for the Winter Schedule 2025, according to Debojo Maharshi, SpiceJet's chief business officer.

"With the additional aircraft, the airline will be able to expand frequencies on key routes and satisfy the increased passenger demand as we approach the festive and winter travel season," he added.
One of the biggest regional airlines in the nation, Spicejet is an IATA-IOSA-certified airline with a fleet of Boeing 737s and Q-400s. It offers several daily flights under the regional connectivity plan, or UDAN. In Q1 FY26, the airline reported a solo net loss of Rs 235.08 crore, while in Q1 FY25, it posted a net profit of Rs 149.95 crore. In the first quarter of 2025, revenue from operations fell 34% year over year to Rs 1,033.36 crore. On the BSE, the share is now trading at Rs 32.72, up 0.86%.
