Godrej Consumer Products has expanded its manufacturing setup in Malanpur, Madhya Pradesh, with a Rs 480 crore investment in its fourth unit at the site.
The company has operated the 65-acre facility since 1991 and has now taken its total investment in Malanpur beyond Rs 850 crore.
The latest expansion adds capacity for soaps, hair colours and household insecticides while introducing faster production lines and automated operations.
The company expects the expanded facility to generate around Rs 3,800 crore in revenue once it reaches full capacity.
The investment also strengthens Malanpur’s position within Godrej Consumer’s wider FMCG manufacturing network and adds another layer to its long-term production strategy.
Godrej Consumer Products has added its fourth manufacturing unit to the Malanpur complex, reinforcing the location as an important base for its manufacturing expansion. The company has invested more than Rs 480 crore in the latest facility, taking total investment at the site beyond Rs 850 crore.
The 65-acre Malanpur facility has supported Godrej Consumer’s operations since 1991. The latest expansion builds on that long-term manufacturing presence rather than creating an entirely new production location. The company now uses the site to manufacture products across soaps, hair colours and household insecticides.
The expansion also increases the site's production scale. The new facility can produce up to 4,000 soap bars per minute, while the overall soap manufacturing capacity at the expanded site exceeds 2 lakh metric tons per year. The company expects the facility to generate around Rs 3,800 crore in revenue once it reaches full operations.

The new manufacturing setup also brings greater production speed and automation to Malanpur. Godrej Consumer says the new production lines operate at nearly three times the speed of its existing lines, supporting higher output from the expanded facility.
The company has also incorporated sustainability considerations into the facility. The expanded site follows Indian Green Building Council guidelines, while the wider Malanpur plant has continued initiatives around waste management and environmental performance. GCPL’s annual report identifies Malanpur as a flagship manufacturing site and highlights measures such as recycling effluent-treatment-plant sludge for co-processing.
The expansion also strengthens Malanpur’s position within Madhya Pradesh’s industrial landscape. For Godrej Consumer, the latest investment adds manufacturing capacity at an established site while supporting higher production volumes and operational efficiency.
The Rs 480 crore investment gives Malanpur a larger role in Godrej Consumer’s manufacturing network. The company has steadily expanded the site since establishing operations there in 1991, and the fourth unit now takes the facility to a substantially larger production scale.
With more than Rs 850 crore invested cumulatively, higher soap capacity, automated production lines and a projected Rs 3,800 crore revenue contribution once fully operational, Malanpur has moved beyond its role as a conventional factory location. It now represents a significant part of Godrej Consumer’s FMCG manufacturing capacity and its broader manufacturing setup.
