Shakti Pumps (India) Ltd has landed a Rs 155 crore order from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited, marking a strong move in the renewable irrigation segment.
The contract is part of the Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana, a Maharashtra government scheme focused on expanding solar-powered irrigation across the state.
Through this order, the company will supply and install 6,580 off-grid solar water pumping systems. These include pumps with capacities of 3 HP, 5 HP, and 7.5 HP, aimed at helping farmers shift away from grid electricity and diesel-based systems.
The scope of work covers design, manufacturing, transportation, installation, testing, and commissioning, making it a complete turnkey project.

The order strengthens the company’s pipeline and improves short-term revenue visibility. It also signals growing traction in the renewable irrigation segment, where policy-driven demand continues to rise. With state-backed programs pushing adoption, solar pumps are becoming a practical solution for regions facing unreliable power supply.
This development comes at a key time for Shakti Pumps, as new business inflow is expected to support stability after recent financial pressure. With Maharashtra continuing to invest in solar irrigation, the company stands to benefit from sustained demand in the renewable irrigation segment, positioning itself for steady growth in the clean energy agriculture space.
