
Exicom is taking liquid cooling technology deeper into India’s EV charging industry. The company has started making liquid-cooled AC and DC power modules at its Hyderabad facility.
The move makes Exicom the first Indian company to manufacture this category of power electronics for global markets. The modules will initially support Tritium chargers in North America and Europe.
The development comes as EV charging systems handle higher power and longer operating hours. This also increases the heat generated inside charging equipment. Exicom says its liquid cooling system can help tackle this issue.
Heat is a major concern for high-power charging equipment. Exicom said nearly 60 percent of power electronics failures are linked to thermal stress. The company said a 10°C to 15°C temperature rise can double component failure rates. Its new system uses coolant to move heat away from key components more efficiently.
According to Exicom, the technology can keep internal temperatures around 10°C lower than air-cooled systems. This can support better reliability during demanding charging operations. The modules also use a sealed design. This helps protect the electronics from dust, moisture, and salt air.
These features could become more important as EV chargers move toward faster charging speeds.

Anant Nahata, CEO and Managing Director, Exicom, said, "Anyone who has stood next to a fast charger on a 45-degree afternoon knows what heat does to electronics. EV Charging is getting faster with chargers running more hours a day, and customers expect them to work every season and at every site. Globally, liquid cooling has become the architecture of choice for high-power charging. We are bringing this technology to India. Local manufacturing matters because we now own more of that technology ourselves. We can engineer it, improve it and adapt it faster, for our customers here and across the world.”
The first production will mainly serve customers in North America and Europe. The modules will be used in Tritium’s DC charging portfolio. This includes TRI-FLEX ultra-fast DC chargers and DC-FLEX charging systems.
Exicom acquired Tritium, a global DC fast-charging company, in 2024. The latest production move combines Tritium’s technology with Exicom’s manufacturing capabilities. The company plans to bring the technology to Indian customers later. These customers will include charge point operators, fleet companies, and vehicle manufacturers.
Exicom also plans to add the technology to its flagship Harmony DC chargers over time. This could create another export opportunity for India’s EV charging industry.
The new modules are being made at Exicom’s Hyderabad Smart Manufacturing Facility. The plant uses automation, digital traceability, and specialized testing systems. The facility will support both domestic and international production. It also strengthens Exicom’s position in high-power EV charging technology.
For India, the move could help expand local manufacturing of advanced charging components. It also supports the country’s growing role in the global electric vehicle supply chain. Exicom said local manufacturing gives it greater control over the technology. It can also help the company improve and adapt products faster for different markets.
