Tata Power has commissioned a 180 kW ultra-fast EV charging station along the Mumbai–Ahmedabad highway, marking a major push for faster and more reliable intercity electric travel in India.
The new ultra-fast EV charging station is located at Vithal Kamat Restaurant in Manor on NH-48, one of the country’s busiest transport routes.
The high-capacity charger can power electric vehicles from 20 percent to 80 percent in just 15 to 30 minutes, cutting down wait times for both private and commercial users. This move directly addresses range anxiety, a key concern slowing EV adoption, by offering dependable and fast highway charging.
The station is part of Tata Power’s growing EZ Charge network and supports CCS2 fast-charging standards, making it compatible with a wide range of electric vehicles. With this addition, the company continues to expand its EV charging infrastructure in India, especially across major highways.

Beyond charging, the location offers clean restrooms, food options, and relaxation areas, improving the overall travel experience. This blend of comfort and infrastructure makes long-distance EV travel more practical and appealing.
Tata Power’s broader EV ecosystem is already extensive, with over 200,000 home chargers, more than 6,700 public and semi-public charging points, and 1,200+ e-bus charging stations across 630 cities. Its highway network is also growing rapidly to support seamless mobility.
The EZ Charge mobile app allows users to locate stations, check real-time availability, and make digital payments, adding convenience to the experience.
The newly installed charger is expected to serve 25 to 30 vehicles daily, supporting India’s shift toward sustainable mobility and strengthening the future of long-distance EV travel.
