Gurugram-based ACME Solar Holdings has successfully commissioned the first phase of its maiden 50 MW wind power project in Shapar, Gujarat, adding 26.4 MW to India’s renewable energy grid. Announced on May 28, 2025, this milestone increases the company’s total operational capacity from 2,705 MW to 2,731.4 MW, reinforcing its commitment to India’s clean energy goals. The project, part of the ACME Pokhran wind initiative, will be completed in phases, with the remaining capacity expected to come online in the near future.
Backed by funding from the Power Finance Corporation, the Shapar project uses cutting-edge Envision 3.3 MW turbines, built by ACME’s own team. The power flows through a 33/220 kV station and a dedicated 220 kV line to the Shapar sub-station. This setup will also support another 100 MW wind project ACME is working on, tapping into Gujarat’s strong winds.
