By entering the Middle East with a daring new joint venture in Saudi Arabia, Unimech Aerospace and Manufacturing is aggressively pursuing their expansion and presence throughout the world.
The Bengaluru-based precision engineering company has partnered with Gulf multinational Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Company to create YBAK Unimech Advanced Manufacturing Solutions aimed at meeting the energy and industrial needs of customers in the region.
The new joint venture will be located in Dammam and will be supported by a multi-phase investment of $30 million to develop a greenfield manufacturing facility that will specialize in advanced machining and, eventually, offer complete remanufacturing and repair services. As part of the agreement with their partners, Unimech has secured 51% of the ownership of the operation while YBA Kanoo has obtained a 49% majority.

Company leaders say the partnership will strengthen Unimech’s foothold in local energy manufacturing. This facility is expected to begin with CNC machining capabilities and gradually add API-certified remanufacturing and repair services as customer audits and qualifications are completed. The joint venture is designed to cater to both upstream and downstream oil and gas markets across the Middle East.
Unimech’s Chairman and Managing Director, Anil Kumar Puttan, said the JV marks a major step in expanding the company’s energy business and aligns with Saudi Arabia’s industrial goals. Meanwhile, Ali Abdulla A Kanoo, Chairman of YBA Kanoo — Saudi Arabia, highlighted the deal’s commitment to building local manufacturing capabilities in line with regional growth priorities.
Over the next five years, Unimech and YBA Kanoo project the venture could generate around $80 million in cumulative revenue, depending on market conditions and approvals.
