LG Electronics’ Rs. 5,000 crore manufacturing facility at Sri City has emerged as a strong symbol of Andhra Pradesh’s push for rapid industrial execution, with the project progressing swiftly within just seven months of land handover in May 2025.
Andhra Pradesh Minister for IT, Electronics and Communications Nara Lokesh highlighted the pace of development in a social media post, describing the facility as a reflection of the state’s “Speed of Doing Business” and its focus on investor-friendly governance.
The 247-acre greenfield project is LG Electronics’ third manufacturing plant in India and is expected to produce refrigerators, air conditioners, washing machines and key components, creating thousands of jobs in the region.

Sharing an update, Lokesh said, “From land handover in May 2025 to remarkable progress today - LG Electronics' ₹5,000 crore world-class manufacturing facility in Sri City is moving at speed and scale!”
From a vacant parcel of land in mid-2025, the Sri City facility has already moved into advanced stages of construction, positioning the region as a major consumer durables manufacturing hub in southern India. The plant also aligns with LG Electronics’ strategy to expand domestic manufacturing and strengthen supply-chain integration across the country.
According to the minister, commercial production is scheduled to begin by the end of 2026, with phased expansion continuing until 2029 to match capacity with market demand and employment growth.
The Andhra Pradesh government said it supported the investment through timely land allocation, coordinated approvals and constant engagement with the company, adding that the project is expected to catalyze a local vendor and supplier ecosystem around Sri City, further reinforcing the state’s appeal as a leading electronics manufacturing destination.
