Exicom Tele-Systems has commissioned a new Hyderabad plant with an investment of INR 216 crore to scale up EV charger production as demand for electric mobility rises in India.
The facility is designed to strengthen domestic manufacturing of charging solutions and support the country’s rapidly expanding electric vehicle ecosystem.
Spread across about 18.4 acres, the new manufacturing unit has a built-up area of nearly 2.8 lakh square feet. The plant will manufacture a wide range of products including AC and DC chargers, power systems, and related electronics used in EV charging infrastructure. With this expansion, the company aims to significantly increase its capacity and support both domestic deployment and export markets.
The facility integrates advanced manufacturing practices and automated production lines to improve efficiency and product quality. It also houses specialized testing capabilities, including an interoperability testing center that will ensure chargers work smoothly with different electric vehicle models. This capability is expected to improve compatibility across the growing EV ecosystem.

Commenting on the development, Anant Nahata, CEO and MD of Exicom, said: "This facility truly reflects what we mean by Beautifully Engineered. It brings together precision manufacturing, advanced automation, rigorous testing and complete product traceability to ensure every product we build meets the highest standards of quality and reliability. These capabilities allow us to innovate faster and scale with confidence. At the same time, the plant itself is a thoughtfully designed, visually striking space that reflects the care and craftsmanship behind our technology."
The investment marks a major step in scaling EV charger production in India, as the industry pushes to build reliable charging networks across cities and highways. The company expects the plant to boost overall production capacity and help meet rising demand from automakers, charge point operators, and infrastructure developers.
In addition to manufacturing, the site includes research, product validation, and testing infrastructure aimed at accelerating innovation in charging technology. The plant is also expected to generate several hundred jobs, supporting local employment and strengthening the regional manufacturing ecosystem.
With electric vehicle adoption increasing across passenger and commercial segments, the new Hyderabad plant positions Exicom to expand its footprint in the EV charging infrastructure market while contributing to India’s clean mobility transition.
