Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a week-long visit to France and Slovakia beginning June 13, aimed at strengthening bilateral ties, advancing technology partnerships, and addressing key global challenges.
The visit will also include participation in the G7 Summit in France, where Modi is expected to engage with world leaders on issues ranging from economic growth to artificial intelligence.
The multi-leg trip underscores India's growing engagement with Europe and its role in shaping discussions on global governance, innovation, and international cooperation.
In the first visit, Modi will travel to the French city of Nice on June 13-14, where he will hold bilateral talks with French President Emmanuel Macron.
The two leaders are expected to review the full spectrum of India-France relations, which were elevated to a Special Global Strategic Partnership earlier this year. Discussions are likely to focus on strategic cooperation, defense, technology, innovation, trade, and investment.
During their meeting in Nice, Modi and Macron will also jointly inaugurate the Bharat Innovates event, which will bring together leading startups and venture capital funds from India, France, and other countries.
Following his engagements in France, Modi will undertake a State visit to Slovakia from June 14 to 16.
The visit will be the first by an Indian prime minister to Slovakia since the country's independence in 1993, marking a significant milestone in bilateral relations.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), the visit will reaffirm India's commitment to strengthening cooperation with Slovakia across sectors including trade, investment, automobile manufacturing, and railway production.
The trip is expected to provide fresh momentum to economic and industrial partnerships between the two countries.
Modi will participate in the G7 Summit in Evian, France, on June 16 and 17, where he will join leaders from G7 nations, invited partner countries, and international organizations.
The summit agenda includes discussions on forging new partnerships, rebuilding international solidarity, reviving balanced and sustainable economic growth, and ensuring the safe and efficient deployment of artificial intelligence.
On the sidelines of the summit, the prime minister is also expected to hold a series of bilateral meetings with several world leaders.
India's participation reflects its growing role in global decision-making and its position as a leading voice of the Global South.

In the final visit, Modi will travel to Paris on June 18 to attend VivaTech, Europe's largest technology and startup event.
The event is expected to showcase India's strengths in innovation, digital transformation, entrepreneurship, and emerging technologies.
The MEA said Modi's participation in both Bharat Innovates and VivaTech is expected to encourage new partnerships between Indian, French, and broader European technology ecosystems.
The engagements are also aimed at promoting India's startup ecosystem and attracting greater collaboration in research, innovation, and venture capital investments.
The visit highlights India's efforts to deepen strategic and economic engagement with Europe while expanding cooperation in technology, innovation, and global governance.
Through bilateral discussions with France and Slovakia and participation in the G7 Summit, India is expected to strengthen its diplomatic outreach and reinforce its role in addressing major international challenges.
The trip also aligns with India's broader objective of advancing its strategic partnership with the European Union and expanding opportunities for trade, investment, and innovation-led growth.
The visit will also provide a platform for India to contribute to global discussions on growth, innovation, and international collaboration.
