Suzlon Wins 838 MW Wind Power Order from Tata Power Renewable

The Suzlon Group, India’s foremost provider of renewable energy solutions, has clinched its biggest order in FY26—an 838 MW wind power project from Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL). This is the second-biggest Suzlon order ever, only behind the 1,544 MW deal with NTPC Green Energy, and it indicates the rising importance of Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) projects in India’s clean energy transition.

This plan includes the setting up of 266 S144 wind turbines of 3.15 MW each rated capacity, spread over three states, namely Karnataka (302 MW), Maharashtra (271 MW), and Tamil Nadu (265 MW). The project, which is the first FDRE auction shared between SJVN and NTPC, is a demonstration of the wind-led systems’ ability to provide continuous, grid-stable renewable energy, thus, matching the Indian clean energy target.

Established in Pune, Suzlon has a global wind power installation capacity of over 21 GW in 17 countries, of which 15.2 GW is in India. This has been made possible due to the company’s own R&D centres located in Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, and India, respectively.
