Suzlon's 250 MW Order Signals More Wind Power Projects in India

Suzlon has secured a new 250 MW order from Torrent Green Energy. The deal could add momentum to Wind Power Projects across India.

The latest order also takes the Suzlon-Torrent partnership beyond 1.3 GW. The order is Torrent Green Energy’s sixth order from Suzlon. Torrent Green Energy is a Torrent Group company.

The partnership now covers more than 1.3 GW across Gujarat, Karnataka, and Madhya Pradesh.

Suzlon will supply 76 S144 wind turbine generators for the project. Each turbine has a capacity of 3.3 MW. The company will also provide grid integration and long-term operations and maintenance services.

Suzlon to Supply 76 Wind Turbines

The latest order will strengthen Suzlon’s presence in India’s growing wind energy market. The company has secured more than 1.1 GW of new orders in FY27 so far.

The 250 MW project includes:

• 76 S144 wind turbine generators
• 3.3 MW capacity for each turbine
• Grid integration services from Suzlon
• Long-term operations and maintenance services
• Projects across Gujarat, Karnataka, and Madhya Pradesh

The S144 is part of Suzlon’s 3 MW wind turbine platform. The order adds another major project to the company’s growing order pipeline.

Suzlon-Torrent Partnership Crosses 1.3 GW

The new deal marks the sixth order between Suzlon and Torrent Green Energy. Their cumulative partnership has now reached more than 1.3 GW.

Girish Tanti, Vice Chairman of Suzlon Group, said the company sees long-term partnerships as an important measure of success. He described Torrent Green Energy as one of Suzlon’s valued partners for more than a decade.

Ajay Kapur, Chief Executive Officer of Suzlon Group, said customer confidence remains a key strength for the company. He linked this confidence to Suzlon securing 1.1 GW of new orders in FY27.

Kapur also highlighted Madhya Pradesh as an emerging growth market for wind energy in India. The latest order will further strengthen Suzlon’s presence in the state.
