India's renewable energy industry continues to pick up speed.With the acquisition of a 300 MW wind power project under Wind Tranche-XVIII by Torrent Green Energy Pvt Ltd, a fully owned subsidiary of Torrent Power.
India's shift to renewable energy has advanced significantly with the award, which was given out on June 11 by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI). With an anticipated expenditure of ₹2,650 crore, the project, which would be developed at a rate of ₹3.97 per unit, will be put into service within 24 months of the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) being signed. This expansion strengthens Torrent's position in India's growing green energy scene by bringing its total renewable capacity under development to 3.3 GWp.
"Torrent Green Energy Pvt Ltd has received a 'Letter of Award' from Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) on June 11 for setting up a 300 MW Wind power project under Wind Tranche-XVIII,” the company said in a regulatory filing.
