Royal Enfield Andhra Pradesh plant plans have received a major push after the Andhra Pradesh State Investment Promotion Board approved the company’s Rs 2,200 crore investment proposal for a new manufacturing facility in Tirupati district.
The project marks Royal Enfield’s first major manufacturing expansion outside Tamil Nadu since the motorcycle maker was founded in 1901.
The company will develop the facility in two phases at Satyavedu mandal, close to the Andhra Pradesh-Tamil Nadu border.
Andhra Pradesh has allotted 267 acres in Vanelluru and Rallakuppam villages for the project. Once completed, the plant is expected to add nearly 900,000 units to Royal Enfield’s manufacturing capacity, strengthening India’s role as a global motorcycle production hub.

The first phase of the project will also include a dedicated vendor park designed to bring the company’s supplier ecosystem into the state. The move is expected to support the growth of a large automotive manufacturing cluster in Andhra Pradesh and create around 5,000 direct and indirect jobs. The first phase is targeted for completion by 2029, while the second phase is expected to be operational by 2032.
Speaking about the project, Nara Lokesh, Minister for Education, IT & Electronics, and Human Resources Development, said, “Royal Enfield is far more than a motorcycle brand — it is a timeless symbol of heritage, craftsmanship and enduring quality. We are proud to welcome this iconic company to Andhra Pradesh.”
Highlighting the significance of the Royal Enfield Andhra Pradesh plant, he added, “This investment is a strong endorsement of Andhra Pradesh’s speed of doing business, robust infrastructure ecosystem and our commitment to becoming a leading manufacturing destination in India. Beyond the plant itself, the vendor ecosystem and ancillary industries that will emerge around this project will significantly strengthen our vision of building a globally competitive automobile and advanced manufacturing hub.”
