JSW Motors has announced a major JSW Motors & Tata Elxsi partnership with Tata Elxsi to fast-track the development of next-generation connected and software-defined vehicles in India.
The agreement, signed today through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marks a significant push toward building a future-ready mobility ecosystem.
At the center of this collaboration is the upcoming JNEXT – JSW NextGen Technology Center in Pune. This dedicated hub will focus on advanced automotive engineering and work closely with JSW Motors’ research, manufacturing, and leadership teams. The goal is to create intelligent platforms for electric, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid vehicles.

As part of the JSW Motors & Tata Elxsi partnership, Tata Elxsi will lead the development of a connected vehicle platform along with a unified customer application for JSW Motors’ future lineup. The company will handle the full lifecycle, from concept and system integration to production readiness and post-launch support, while collaborating with a wider ecosystem of partners.
The initiative also brings in advanced technologies such as cloud platforms, over-the-air updates, and digital twin systems. It will enable features powered by artificial intelligence and machine learning, along with capabilities in cybersecurity, 5G connectivity, and immersive tools like augmented and virtual reality.
Ranjan Nayak, CEO of JSW Motors, stated that the collaboration represents a significant step toward creating globally competitive mobility solutions rooted in India. He highlighted that Tata Elxsi’s expertise in software-defined vehicles, electrification, and advanced driver assistance systems will help accelerate product development while ensuring high standards of quality and innovation.
Manoj Raghavan, MD and CEO of Tata Elxsi, noted that the partnership reflects the ongoing transformation of the automotive industry toward software-led, connected ecosystems. He added that the JNEXT Center will play a key role in translating emerging technologies into practical mobility solutions.
The collaboration will also cover advanced vehicle architectures, predictive diagnostics, performance optimization, and compliance with global safety and cybersecurity standards.
