JSW JFE Electrical Steel Nashik Private Limited, recognized as one of India’s leading producers of Cold Rolled Grain-Oriented Electrical Steel (CRGO), has entered into a substantial contract with John Cockerill India Limited.
This contract entails the engineering, design, manufacturing, and supply of state-of-the-art tunnel furnaces for its facility in Nashik. Additionally, the agreement includes oversight of the erection and commissioning processes to guarantee performance standards, with an anticipated completion date set for the first quarter of 2027.
As part of the contract, John Cockerill India will provide all essential components for the tunnel furnaces, which will feature advanced coil handling systems. The project scope also includes supervision of the erection and commissioning phases, ensuring seamless integration and maximum operational efficiency.
The tunnel furnace is a critical part of the Grain-Oriented Electrical Steel (GOES) processing industry, as the controlled hot temperature heating in a protective atmosphere is key to improving magnetic properties and microstructure. This is essential in the production of materials for high-efficiency power transformers and other core components of energy transmission systems.
