Airtel Business, the enterprise division of Bharti Airtel, has been secured a contract for several years by the Indian Railway Security Operations Centre (IRSOC) to provide the Indian Railways with high-end cybersecurity services.
As per the deal, Airtel Business will not only plan, construct, and install a zero-incident, multi-layer cybersecurity environment to protect the railways’ critical IT infrastructure but also ensure the safe digital operations round the clock.
The solution will have as one of the parts centralized security control and a strong multi-layer protection system which will guard against the railway’s vast databases, including operational, ticketing, freight, and signaling systems. Using Make in India cybersecurity products and AI-embedded technologies, Airtel Business will create a secure, compliant, and highly resilient security framework for the country’s one of the most critical infrastructures.
Indian Railways is a 26-location, 1.6-lakh-person, more than 13,000-trains-per-day, over-20-million-passengers-per-day, and 1.5-billion-tonnes-of-freight-per-year organization.
The main theme that Sharat Sinha, CEO and Director of Airtel Business, emphasized that cybersecurity is a must-have prerequisite for the smooth continuation of the operations, data safety, and passenger safety.

Dilip Kumar, EDIP – Railway Board, informed that the creation of IRSOC will facilitate not only the centralization of monitoring railway assets, but also rapid detection of the threat and its management, and increased cooperation with national cybersecurity agencies.
This collaboration serves as a clear indicator of Airtel Business’ intention of providing secure, convenient, and efficient digital services, which in turn, is a strong point in favor of the resilience of India’s railway network against the cyber risks that keep evolving.
