Adani Power has secured a 558 MW PPA with Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Corporation Ltd., strengthening its foothold in the southern power market.
The agreement was signed through its subsidiary, Moxie Power Generation Ltd., and will supply 558 megawatts of electricity for a period of five years starting April 1, 2026. The move comes at a time when state utilities are actively locking in long-term supply to manage rising demand and price fluctuations.
The power will be sourced from the company’s 1,200 MW thermal plant located in Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu. Moxie Power emerged as the lowest bidder in the competitive bidding process, quoting a tariff of ₹5.91 per unit. With this development, both units of the Tuticorin plant are now tied to long-term contracts, improving plant load factor and strengthening revenue visibility for the company.

The latest 558 MW PPA pushes over 95 percent of Adani Power’s operational capacity under medium- and long-term agreements. This reduces exposure to short-term market volatility and ensures predictable cash flow. The company has stated its goal of achieving close to 100 percent long-term PPA coverage across its generation portfolio in the coming years.
