Lakshmi machine works (LMW) declared INR 1050 crore investment in Tamil Nadu in order to expand manufacturing, research and development, and electronic capabilities.
Chief Minister MK Stalin signed the MoU and it has led to the state emphasis on high-value projects.
Development of Coimbatore as a high-technological industrial base is promoted by the investment, which enables LMW to produce more goods and gain deeper penetration of its manufacturing powers.
It also promotes efforts by India in increasing its self-sufficiency in important areas like engineering and electronics where the local expertise is becoming increasingly important.

One of the components of the plan is to develop the technologies of electronics and engineering. LMW will combine innovations and current manufacturing technologies with research based development to create the upcoming generation solutions. The growth will enhance the image of Coimbatore as a centre of precision engineering and tech-based development.
It is projected that the investment will provide a lot of direct and indirect employment in the Tamil Nadu region and revive the industrial centre of the state. Stable skilled talent and favourable policies persist in supporting Tamil Nadu to draw high investments by the leading manufacturers in terms of long-term development.
