Zelio E-Mobility has announced plans to set up a new Zelio E-Mobility Coimbatore plant in Coimbatore, marking its fourth manufacturing facility in the country.
The upcoming unit in Tamil Nadu will support the company’s expansion in South India as demand for electric mobility continues to grow across the region.
The facility will span around 39,000 square feet and will handle the assembly of electric scooters along with warehousing and logistics operations. According to the company, the plant’s initial operational setup is scheduled to begin in April 2026, while commercial production is expected to start by July 2026.
The Zelio E-Mobility Coimbatore plant is part of the company’s broader strategy to strengthen its manufacturing base and improve supply chain efficiency. Establishing production closer to southern markets is expected to shorten delivery timelines, reduce logistics costs and provide better support to its expanding dealer network.

Kunal Arya, Managing Director of Zelio E-Mobility, said South India represents an important growth market for the company as interest in electric mobility continues to rise across both urban and semi-urban regions.
“South India has emerged as a strong growth corridor for electric mobility, supported by increasing consumer awareness and a favourable market environment,” Arya said.
The new unit will join Zelio’s existing facilities in Ladwa, Patan and Cuttack. The company raised ₹78.34 crore through its SME IPO and is listed on the BSE.
Zelio currently sells multiple electric scooters, including X Men, Gracy and Eeva series models, along with cargo and high-speed variants. In the three-wheeler segment, the company manufactures electric rickshaws under the Tanga brand. Its distribution network now includes more than 350 dealerships across over 20 states and union territories in India.
