ACME Solar has secured 130 MW in the Indian Railways’ round-the-clock (RTC) renewable energy tender, marking a key win in the sector’s push for steady green power delivery.
The award came through an e-reverse auction run by REMC Ltd, which oversaw the 1,000 MW national tender.
The Indian Railways will now move toward a direct Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with ACME Solar and other successful bidders. The company said the discovered tariff shows how competitive high-availability renewable power has become when solar, wind, and battery systems work together.
ACME Solar added that “the discovered tariff reflects the competitiveness of providing high-availability renewable power by combining solar, wind and battery systems.”

Under the bid terms, the company must supply firm, dispatchable renewable energy from ISTS-connected projects. This requirement makes the RTC format more demanding, as developers must guarantee a stable output rather than variable generation.
ACME Solar’s winning tariff of ₹4.35 per unit has been selected, and the firm expects the Letter of Award to arrive within the prescribed timeline. The company plans to commission the project within thirty months of signing the PPA, supported by land and grid connectivity already available in its existing portfolio.
The RTC structure comes with strict performance rules. The project must deliver at least 75% annual availability during the first three years and 85% from the fourth year onward. To meet these targets, ACME Solar will deploy a blend of solar capacity, energy storage and complementary wind power—an approach expected to strengthen the company’s position in the growing RTC renewable power market.
