Tesla is expanding its operation in India by implementing a strong charging system and establishing a multi-service centre in Gurugram.
The company is currently in Delhi and Mumbai and it strives to establish charging infrastructure that would fit in the daily lives of the customers.
At the launch of the first Tesla Center at Orchid Business Park, Gurugram, Tesla India, General Manager, Sharad Agarwal said the company will focus on supercharging sites and home-charging options. “So the future roadmap will be to have a charging infrastructure to cover all major cities. We always build our infrastructure around the lifestyle of our customers, where they eat, where they work, where they go for staycations,” he said.

Agarwal opined that cleaner mobility is mandatory to cities like Delhi and Mumbai which are ranked as having one of the highest pollution rates. He mentioned that Tesla has already produced more than 8 million vehicles across the world, which reduced carbon emissions by 32 million tons. He added our mission is to hasten the process of making the world a sustainable place.
Tesla has already started the delivery of the Model Y in India, as well as considering making the Indian hotels and other destinations accessible to charge the car. Agarwal stated that the direct-to-consumer approach of Tesla is also gaining significant attention, which is making Indian people more confident about the electric mobility.
