Transport Corporation of India Limited (TCI) has announced a strategic move under the TCI FLYING WHALES partnership, teaming up with FLYING WHALES and its operational subsidiary, FLYING WHALES SERVICES, to introduce the LCA60T cargo airship in India.
The rigid airship can carry up to 60 tons and load or unload while hovering in place, opening new possibilities for heavy and oversized cargo transport in remote regions.
Originally designed for sustainable timber operations in hard-to-access areas, the LCA60T requires minimal ground infrastructure and reduces environmental impact.
Through the TCI FLYING WHALES partnership, this advanced airship will connect with TCI’s multimodal network of nearly 1,400 offices, hubs, yards, and warehouses. The integration is expected to support key sectors including defense, energy, infrastructure, construction, and emergency services.

The collaboration is set to support critical projects such as high-voltage transmission in Ladakh, green energy corridors, Trans-Himalayan infrastructure, and disaster relief efforts.
