Pratap Technocrats makes a bold transition into a green energy business with a high-value battery storage deal signed for NTPC Limited.
The Gurugram-based company has bagged a Rs 776.13 Cr deal from NTPC Limited to deploy a 570MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).
As per the deal, Pratap Technocrats will deploy 320MWh BESS at the NTPC Gadarwara power plant and 250MWh BESS at the NTPC Khargone power plant, strengthening grid reliability at these two key thermal power hubs.
This move marks a significant strategic shift not just for Pratap Technocrats but also for India’s Green energy ecosystem. As the significance of renewable energy grows, it is becoming critical to store energy, and large-scale battery installations like BESS will ensure a reliable energy supply.

Devendra Singh Shekhawat, Chairman, Pratap Technocrats, called the deal a milestone and said, “This project reflects the trust placed in our execution capabilities and supporting India’s transition toward resilient and sustainable energy infrastructure.”
For Pratap, this win aligns with its diversification strategy. The company has recently bagged Rs 8,025 Cr three middle- mile network projects across Rajasthan, Haryana, and Assam under the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s BharathNet Phase 3 Programme, supporting India’s rural broadband infrastructure programme.
For NTPC, India’s key power producer, the partnership aligns with its push to integrate advanced storage technologies into age-old power plants, bridging legacy systems with modern technology.
As India scales up its Clean Energy vision, storage is becoming as vital as energy generation. Projects like this don’t just store power; they ensure a stable, reliable, and round-the-clock supply, making them pivotal for the country’s clean energy future.
