Solex Energy has announced a major Solex Energy solar manufacturing project Gujarat, signing an agreement with the state government to invest Rs 4,000 crore in a large-scale renewable energy manufacturing hub.
The project marks a significant step in strengthening India’s domestic clean energy ecosystem. Under this plan, the company will set up a 5 GW solar cell manufacturing facility in phases.
The first phase will deliver 2 GW capacity, followed by an additional 3 GW in the second phase. Alongside solar production, the project will also include a 10 GW battery energy storage system (BESS) facility, creating a fully integrated setup for renewable energy manufacturing.

The Solex Energy solar manufacturing project Gujarat is designed to reduce India’s reliance on imported solar components. By building both solar cells and storage systems locally, the initiative supports the country’s push toward self-reliance in the renewable sector. It also aligns with India’s broader clean energy targets and manufacturing growth strategy.
The investment is expected to strengthen Gujarat as a key hub for solar manufacturing. With infrastructure and policy support already in place, the state continues to attract large-scale renewable energy investments.
Battery storage is a critical part of this project, as it helps manage solar power when sunlight is not available. This combined approach improves reliability and efficiency in renewable energy usage.
With this development, Solex Energy is not just expanding its manufacturing capacity but also contributing to India’s long-term energy security and sustainability goals.
