Prime minister Narendra Modi on Saturday stated that in developed nations, economic growth is propelled by infrastructure and India is on the fast track in that direction.
He flagged off four new Vande Bharat Express trains in his Lok Sabha constituency of Varanasi speaking at Banaras railway station. The Prime Minister went on to state that the trains like the Vande Bharat, Namo Bharat, and Amrit Bharat were laying the groundwork of a new generation of Indian Railways, and this was the push that India was taking towards modern, efficient and sustainable transportation.
The new Vande Bharat Express trains will service the routes of Banaras-Khajuraho, Lucknow-Saharanpur, Firozpur-Delhi and Ernakulam-Bengaluru. The aim of these semi-high speed trains is to decrease the time of traveling, increase the connectivity among the major cities, improve the movement into the regions as well as tourism.

According to Modi, pilgrimage centres have been part of spiritual identity of India. He told that these destinations have become world-class sites because of the development in Uttar Pradesh during the last 11 years. The attendance of the event was by the Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
The officials indicated that the inclusion of the Vande Bharat trains will not only enhance the railway network in India but also the economy as well as the travelling experience of the travellers as it is fast, clean and comfortable. The opening is an indication of the increased interest by India in modernizing its transport system as a part of its development as a developed country.
