Piyush Goyal, India's Commerce and Industry Minister, urged exporters to implement local supply chains to grow the country's manufacturing ecosystem. At the EEPC India's 70th Anniversary and Export Award ceremony in New Delhi, Goyal said if the nation builds up its local supply chain, it will become more self-reliant and competitive globally.
The ceremony, held by the Engineering Export Promotion Council (EEPC) of India, recognized the economic contribution of the Engineering Export sector in India. Goyal encouraged exporters to implement global best practices, emphasizing the need to focus on quality and sustainability in order to meet international standards.
Goyal expressed "Atmanirbhar Bharat" is the government initiative that is fostering self-reliance through local production to meet domestic and international requirements. By becoming less reliant on imported supplies, India will develop its own manufacturing ability and will start to become a well-known globally as a reliable destination for manufacturing products.

The minister has spoken very fondly on the Make in India initiative and the goal of the government to reduce the Ease of doing business. This will only serve as a catalyst for continuing to exponentially improve the export industry in India.

He emphasized the need to focus on emerging market opportunities, as well as to align with global shifts and trends, such as sustainability.
