L&T has strengthened its global infrastructure presence after securing fresh power transmission and distribution contracts in the Middle East worth between Rs 1,000 crore and Rs 2,500 crore.
The latest L&T orders come at a time when Gulf nations are rapidly expanding electricity networks, modernizing grids, and investing heavily in renewable energy integration projects. With these new wins, L&T continues to deepen its footprint in the region’s fast-growing energy infrastructure market.
The contracts were bagged by the Power Transmission & Distribution (PT&D) vertical of Larsen & Toubro. The company classified the deals as “significant” orders, a category it uses for projects valued between Rs 1,000 crore and Rs 2,500 crore.
The announcement further reinforces the company’s position as one of the leading EPC players executing complex transmission infrastructure projects across international markets.
According to the company, the newly secured projects involve engineering, procurement, and construction of advanced transmission infrastructure across multiple Middle Eastern countries. The scope includes extra-high-voltage substations and transmission systems designed to support rising electricity demand and grid stability requirements in the region.

The projects also include the development of transmission lines and associated infrastructure, including underground cable systems. Some of the projects are expected to operate at voltage levels reaching up to 500 kV, reflecting the scale and technical complexity of the contracts. Such infrastructure is critical for transmitting electricity over long distances while minimizing power losses and supporting large-scale industrial and urban development.
The Middle East has emerged as one of the most active regions globally for power infrastructure investments. Countries across the Gulf are pushing large-scale diversification plans aimed at reducing dependence on oil revenues. As part of these efforts, governments are investing aggressively in renewable energy projects, smart grids, and high-capacity transmission systems capable of handling growing electricity consumption.
The latest contracts align closely with this regional transition. Grid expansion and modernization projects have become essential as countries integrate solar and wind energy into existing electricity networks. Renewable power generation often requires sophisticated transmission infrastructure to ensure reliable distribution and uninterrupted power flow across cities, industrial zones, and remote regions.
For L&T, the orders provide strong long-term business visibility. Large transmission projects typically span multiple years and contribute significantly to revenue pipelines for engineering and construction companies. The projects are also expected to strengthen the company’s international order book, which has become an increasingly important growth driver for the conglomerate.
Over the past few years, L&T has steadily expanded its presence in overseas infrastructure markets, particularly in the Gulf region. The company has previously secured several transmission and power infrastructure projects in Saudi Arabia and other Middle Eastern countries. Many of these projects are linked to broader national development plans focused on urban expansion, industrial growth, and renewable energy deployment.
Industry experts believe the continued inflow of overseas orders reflects rising confidence in Indian EPC companies capable of executing technically demanding projects on a global scale. L&T’s strong execution capabilities, engineering expertise, and long-standing regional relationships have helped it remain competitive in large infrastructure tenders.
The company, however, did not disclose the names of the clients involved in the latest contracts or provide country-specific details regarding the projects. It also did not reveal the exact financial value of each order within the announced range.
The latest order win comes as L&T continues to focus on expanding its international business portfolio while capitalizing on opportunities emerging from the global energy transition. With governments worldwide accelerating investments in clean energy and grid modernization, transmission infrastructure companies are expected to witness sustained demand in the coming years.
