In a noteworthy achievement for sustainability, Hilti Vadodara plant becomes india’s first facility in India to gain DGNB Gold certification, a major advancement for green manufacturing developments in India.
The DGNB (German Sustainable Building Council) rating acknowledges excellence in environmental accountability, innovation, and once again, occupant / user well-being.
The Hilti Vadodara plant was established to act as an integrated global hub for manufacturing and R&D of diamond tools such as saw blades, core bits, and cup wheels. It was operational beginning August 2023, and spans 12,600 square meters. The plant employs 300 people and the manufacturing, design, and testing processes all occur under one roof for efficiency and collaboration.

The design of the plant was exclusively focused on sustainability. It includes solar panels on the rooftop for generating renewable energy that fulfills one-third of its power consumption. The plant employs an advanced chilled-beam technology HVAC system which reduces cooling energy consumption by approximately 80% compared to conventional systems. This list of innovations contributed to the plant achieving top score DGNB criteria for energy efficiency, resource conservation, and indoor environmental quality including the use of materials
This achievement truly represents a landmark moment for Hilti in leading India's sustainable industrial transformation and sets a benchmark for manufacturing facilities that are future-ready and energy efficient. The DGNB Gold certification is not just a badge of environmental compliance — it's a signal to the industry that high-performance, eco-conscious infrastructure is now both possible and essential.
With the Hilti Vadodara plant leading the way, India’s manufacturing sector has a new blueprint for sustainability and innovation.
