Honda Motor Co. made a big step of its electric mobility journey worldwide, by presenting the Honda 0 α (Alpha) electric SUV prototype to the Japan Mobility Show. This is a milestone in the automaker’s move to a green and zero-emission transportation of the future.
The 0 α is a 0 series brand new model to Honda which also comprises the 0 Saloon and 0 SUV. The 0 α stands for the next generation of the company’s EV concept based on the “Thin, Light, and Wise” design philosophy a dedicated electric platform. The 0 Series models will be launched worldwide by the end of 2028, starting with the 0 α.
Another important element of Honda’s plan is a local production of the 0 α to India in 2027, thus, her first electric vehicle for the Indian market. This relocation of the car production plant makes India a strategic hub for Honda’s global EV roadmap and keeps pace with the government’s directive for clean mobility.

Honda President Toshihiro Mibe emphasized once more that the brand would take the lead in carbon neutrality by 2050, while pointing out the 0 Series as the platform of this idea. Created from the ground up for innovation, practicality, and affordability, the 0 α called for a larger population to move to the electric vehicle world and thus, its technology to be made more accessible.
This daring move redefines the rules of the global EV game and is undoubtedly a call for an entirely new global competition in the EV market featuring design innovation, sustainability, and regionalized production to be the driving force of their next era of growth.
