Kalpataru Projects International Ltd (KPIL) has secured an ₹719 crore EPC order for a Thane Metro Rail project, strengthening its position in India’s urban infrastructure segment. The contract has been awarded under the company’s Urban Infrastructure business and involves the development of an elevated metro corridor in Thane, Maharashtra.
According to the company’s disclosure, the scope of work includes full engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) responsibilities for the assigned metro package. The project forms part of the expanding metro network in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, aimed at improving public transport connectivity and easing traffic congestion in rapidly growing urban centres such as Thane.
Commenting on the development, Manish Mohnot, Managing Director and CEO of Kalpataru Projects International Ltd, said the order reflects the company’s execution strength and established track record in complex infrastructure projects. He added that the contract further strengthens KPIL’s presence in the urban transportation segment and supports its long-term growth plans.
Kalpataru Projects operates across multiple infrastructure verticals, including power transmission and distribution, buildings and factories, water supply and irrigation, railways, highways, airports, and metro rail projects. The latest order adds to the company’s existing order book and improves revenue visibility over the medium term.
The Thane Metro project is a key part of Maharashtra’s urban mobility programme, designed to meet rising commuter demand and promote sustainable transportation solutions. Elevated metro corridors are expected to play a significant role in improving travel efficiency in densely populated regions.
