Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal on Saturday (November 29, 2025) stated that various actions and reforms implemented by the government to enhance the ease of doing business have contributed to the economy achieving an 8.2% growth in the July-September quarter of the ongoing fiscal year.
He mentioned that the nation’s exports are also experiencing robust growth despite global trade uncertainties.
“The 8.2% growth demonstrates the various reform initiatives implemented by the government.” "Several steps have been implemented to enhance local manufacturing and facilitate business operations," he stated while attending a national padyatra in Vadodara, which was arranged for the 150th birth anniversary celebrations of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

The government of Gujarat is hosting this ‘padyatra’ (foot march) from Karamsad to the Statue of Unity located in the Narmada district to celebrate the birth anniversary.
He remarked that the growth figures have disproved assertions from specific sectors and demonstrated that India is the fastest-growing major economy globally.
"We will keep witnessing consistent growth," Mr. Goyal stated, noting that India's merchandise and services exports have also shown significant growth from April to October this fiscal year.
From April to October of this fiscal year, merchandise exports saw a slight rise of 0.63% to $254.25 billion, while imports increased by 6.37% to $451.08 billion.
In the initial nine months of this financial year, service exports reached $237.55 billion, in contrast to $216.45 billion during April-October 2024.
The 8.2% gross domestic product (GDP) growth, succeeding a 7.8% growth in the previous April-June quarter, enabled India to maintain its status as the fastest growing major economy globally, as per official statistics.
