Nestle India Limited opened a new production facility of its Munch wafer chocolate in the Sanand plant located in Gujarat. This expansion is in line with the long-term business expansion strategy that the company has, to increase its production capacity and supply the increasing demand in the market.
The new line will promote the company's output by 8300 tonnes per year and an investment amount of 225 crore in capital.
Nestle India has released an exchange filing affirming that it is putting in place a new Munch production line in its Sanand plant, and that this is a bigger capital expenditure plan, which comprises greenfield and brownfield projects to enable it to meet future demand. Nestle India is already a producer of Munch chocolate in a number of other manufacturing facilities.

"This is part of the company’s planned capital expenditure in greenfield and brownfield projects, to increase overall capacities to meet future demand," the company stated in an exchange filing.
At the NSE, Nestle India shares were trading negatively by 18.50 or 1.54 per cent to 1,186.30 on Thursday. Recently, the company announced that the financial performance of the third quarter of FY26 has been good, and its net profit has increased by 45.12 percent, which is 998.42 crore.
The quarter sales have increased by 18.5 percent to 5,643.5 crore with the growth in volumes and brand strength. Domestic sales increased by 18.32, and exports increased by 22.86.
The strong growth was due to Nestle India's emphasis on capacity and investments in consumer-oriented activities such as media and promotions. The milk products segment also performed well in the company, with a leading actor, Milkamaid.
