Trident has declared an ambitious INR 2,000 crore expansion plan in Punjab which is a solid indication that it aims at increasing industrial production in the state.
The company will commit INR 1,500 crore to Barnala to expand its Terry Towel production and improve its paper production plant and INR 500 crore to Mohali to a modern corporate office and capacity building centre.
The growth is not only in terms of capacity, but it is also about employment. The investment by Trident will create approximately 2,000 jobs, especially to semi-skilled rural women. This highlights the fact that the company has an interest in social inclusion and women empowerment.

On the industry perspective, the move consolidates the vertically integrated business model of Trident, which encompasses textile services involved in the production of yarns, towels, and bed linen, and agro based paper production. Trident is increasing the towel production and converting its paper plants to modernization to stand in competition in the long term both within and outside the domestic and export market.
The company is financially positioned to achieve this growth. Its consolidated net profit grew by 9.3 percent and revenues grew by 4.33 percent in Q2 FY26 than in the same quarter of 2020. These numbers imply that Trident can financially implement the plan without stretching itself.
In addition to the figures, the move made by Trident points to faith in Punjab as a promising industrial center. The INR, 2,000 crore investment may receive the encouragement of the state government and trigger the acceleration of the overall economic growth, the increase of skills, and the strengthening of Trident as a leader in textiles and environmental friendly paper production.
