TVS Supply Chain Solutions has opened a warehouse near Chennai to strengthen Caterpillar global logistics, expanding its role in supporting the heavy equipment maker’s worldwide supply chain.
The new facility is located in a Free Trade and Warehousing Zone (FTWZ) at Mannur, close to key manufacturing and port hubs in Tamil Nadu.
The warehouse spans about 40,000 square feet and is designed to handle thousands of pallet positions for components sourced from multiple countries. From this location, parts can be stored, consolidated, and shipped to Caterpillar’s manufacturing sites and distribution networks across global markets. By placing inventory closer to major ports and industrial clusters, the facility is expected to improve supply chain speed and reliability.

The new warehouse near Chennai sits along the Chennai–Bengaluru Industrial Corridor, a key manufacturing belt that connects major automotive and industrial production centers. Its proximity to Chennai’s ports will allow faster inbound and outbound cargo movement, helping Caterpillar manage international shipments more efficiently.
The facility will also support advanced logistics operations, including inventory management, material handling, and export-import processing within the Free Trade and Warehousing Zone. This setup allows companies to store goods and manage cross-border trade with fewer delays and improved cost efficiency.
For TVS Supply Chain Solutions, the new warehouse strengthens its long-standing relationship with Caterpillar and highlights the company’s growing role in managing complex global supply chains. The company already provides a range of logistics services across industries, including automotive, industrial equipment, and consumer goods.
The expansion also reflects the increasing importance of India as a sourcing and logistics hub for global manufacturers. By building infrastructure that supports Caterpillar global logistics, TVS Supply Chain Solutions aims to improve supply chain resilience while helping multinational companies move components and equipment more smoothly across international markets.
