TotalEnergies & Bapco Energies strengthen trade with BxT

BxT Trading has been opened as a new collaborative trading business between TotalEnergies and Bapco Energies which is a huge milestone of the oil industry in Bahrain.

Product flows in the refinery of Bapco Energies will support the venture, which will improve downstream value in addition to increasing access to the global markets.

His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of his Majesty the King of Bahrain on Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs and Chairman of Bapco Energies, and Patrick Pouyanné, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of TotalEnergies, were present on the ceremony of signing. As a new competitive player in the Middle East, BxT Trading will be able to maximize the use of assets, expand its market presence, and enhance trading.

Partnership enables Bapco Energies to acquire the global trading experience of TotalEnergies and have its own strength in the field of market analysis, pricing, trading operations, and risk management. In the case of TotalEnergies, the venture extends its trading presence in the area, as it complements its presence in the Houston, Geneva and Singapore hubs and enhances responsiveness by a formidable presence in the area.

Commenting on the launch, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa stated that “the establishment of BxT Trading demonstrates Bahrain’s dedication to building long-term strategic relationships with leading international energy … downstream integration, expanding global trading reach, and reinforcing Bahrain’s standing as a reliable participant in global energy markets.”

The partnership was welcomed by Patrick Pouyanné who said the partnership with the Bapco Energies will aid the further growth of TotalEnergies in the Middle East. He highlighted that BxT Trading is a manifestation of the long-term partnerships of the company in the region, and it is dedicated towards the innovation, performance of the operations and the sustainable value creation.
