American automotive giant General Motors' aftermarket products brand, ACDelco, made a strong comeback to the Indian market on Monday through a licensing agreement with Assurance Intl Ltd.
Under the partnership, Assurance Intl Ltd will be the official licensee for ACDelco in India, responsible for manufacturing, marketing, and distributing select aftermarket products.
"Initially, we’ll be dealing with lubricants and batteries, and then we plan to expand into filters and other product ranges," said Nilesh Garg, Chief Business & Growth Officer of Assurance Intl Ltd.
He further noted that the first one or two years would focus on lubricants and batteries, with further diversification expected thereafter.
Regarding business projections, Garg shared that the company expects to gradually build up ACDelco's presence in India. "Over the next three to four years, we expect the brand to generate Rs 75 to Rs 100 crore in revenue," he added.

Assurance Intl Ltd operates two manufacturing facilities in Hisar, Haryana, one dedicated to batteries and the other to lubricants.
ACDelco, which offers products such as lubricants, batteries, brake pads, and filters, exited India in 2020 after General Motors' departure in 2017. However, a tripartite agreement between GM, Chevrolet Sales India Pvt Ltd (CSIPL), and Assurance Intl Ltd has paved the way for ACDelco’s re-entry.
With ACDelco’s return, the brand aims to tap into the growing aftermarket needs of vehicles, including those of other manufacturers, supported by Assurance Intl's extensive distributor network across India.
