Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa highlighted the government’s commitment to sustainable energy and cleaner air by saying, “Now the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has approved a subsidy of Rs 10,000 per kilowatt more which comes around to Rs 30,000.”
Key highlights:
In order to control pollution, the cabinet has agreed to use litter machines, anti-smog guns, mechanical road sweepers and water sprinklers. The steps taken are expected to help reduce pollution levels in the city even more.

The government will join forces with banks to grant low-interest loans for solar panel purchase, so citizens don’t need to pay all costs at once. According to Sirsa, “People will not have to spend any money from their pocket and will save Rs 4,200 per month.” The initiative supports Delhi in its journey to better sustainability, encourages using cleaner energy and leads to cleaner city air.
