• Around 3.32 lakh tonnes of urea on eight vessels.
• About 2.57 lakh tonnes of DAP (Diammonium Phosphate) on four vessels.
• Nearly 1.11 lakh tonnes of sulphur on three vessels.

These supplies are expected to reach Indian ports in time to meet demand during the ongoing agricultural season. Officials have also confirmed that five more vessels carrying ammonia, urea, and sulphur are expected to sail soon, further strengthening fertilizer availability.

India Strengthens Fertilizer Supply with Local Production

Apart from imports, the government has increased focus on domestic fertilizer production. Officials said the supply of natural gas to fertilizer plants has returned to normal, allowing all urea manufacturing units to operate at full capacity.

During the April-June quarter, India exceeded its production targets for both urea and DAP, reducing dependence on imports and improving overall fertilizer stocks.

To reduce risks from geopolitical tensions, India has also expanded its fertilizer sourcing from several countries, including:
