RRP Electronics declared that they have a letter of comfort from the Maharashtra government for an area of 100 acres in Navi Mumbai to build their planned 12,000-crore rupee semiconductor fabrication facility. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis formally handed over the letter at an event.
Supported by the legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, the company informed that is facility will be created by moving a semiconductor fab from Sherman, Texas, one of the world’s leading chipmakers, to India. The project, with an approximate outlay of Rs. 12,035 crores, is projected to be the most advanced fab of the region with a monthly output of 125,000 wafers.
"This purchase strongly establishes Maharashtra as the leading state in the country’s Semiconductor Mission roadmap. Our government is ready for sure to provide the infrastructure, policy facilitation, and skill development support required to make it successful," Fadnavis said.

RRP Electronics aims to start the construction within the next six months, with the first phase of the project being commissioned by the second quarter of 2026.
Describing the land acquisition as a "landmark step," the Chairman of RRP Electronics, Rajendra Chodankar, stated that the move indicates the company’s commitment to making India independent in semiconductors. The fab, which is proposed to be Hat-trick India’s semiconductor production ecosystem, is in line with the government’s vision to make India a global hub for electronics and chip making.
