Shri Nara Lokesh, Hon. Minister for Information Technology, Electronics and Communications, Real Time Governance and Human Resources Development, Government of Andhra Pradesh, LG Electronics India Ltd. (LGEIL) announced the start of construction of its new manufacturing facility in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh. By the end of 2026, the new plant should be up and running.
The new manufacturing plant, which is well situated in Sri City's industrial district, will increase LGEIL's production capacity and facilitate local employment in the area. The new plant will be the third one in India owned by LG Electronics. The other two plants are situated in Pune, Maharashtra, and Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
India's significance as a vital center in LG Electronics' global supply chain is shown by this investment. 247 acres of land in Sri City have been authorized by the Andhra Pradesh government for LGEIL's new manufacturing facility, which is anticipated to create about 1495 direct jobs. Over the next four years, LGEIL intends to invest about USD 600 million (INR 5001 crores), which might draw ancillary firms to the area and establish an ecosystem for the production of white goods in the state of Andhra Pradesh. It is anticipated that the new plant in Sri City will further localize production and satisfy the rising demand for LG goods across India. Additionally, it will improve LGEIL's supply chain in South India and facilitate quicker access to LG products for local customers.
Sharing his best wishes from Amaravati, the new capital of Andhra Pradesh, Shri N Chandrababu Naidu, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh said, "We wholeheartedly welcome LG Electronics to Sri City, Andhra Pradesh.
