JSW Energy’s renewable energy arms have raised more than INR 4,000 crore through long-term loans. Axis Bank, Bank of Maharashtra, and NaBFID provided the financing for ongoing and upcoming projects. The loans carry tenures of 15 to 20 years, with competitive interest rates. The company is targeting 30 GW of total capacity by 2030.
Britannia Industries reported a 14% rise in net profit during the June quarter. Sales increased 8% year-on-year to INR 5,000 crore, while net profit reached INR 591 crore. Growth was supported by e-commerce and stronger performance across general trade channels. The company also reported sequential recovery in its international business.
"Most key categories saw positive sequential momentum as we exited the quarter with a mid-teens revenue growth, anchored by rapid scaling in e-commerce and robust growth in General Trade," said Managing Director Rakshit Hargave.
Google’s planned $15 billion data center hub in Andhra Pradesh faces growing environmental opposition. Activists have raised concerns about water availability and the nearby Kambalakonda Wildlife Sanctuary. The Andhra Pradesh High Court is scheduled to hear the public interest litigation on August 24. Google said it will use advanced air cooling to protect local water resources.
"Development should not be at ​the cost of livelihood of the people," Raja Rama Mohan Roy, founder of non-profit Green Visakha said at the event where he presented statistics on Visakhapatnam’s stressed water supply and demand.
Coal India has secured the Gadadharpur iron ore block through a competitive auction in Odisha. The move marks the state-owned miner’s entry into iron ore mining. The block contains an estimated 258 million tonnes of iron ore resources. The development comes as India prepares for higher iron ore demand from steelmaking.

Urban mining could help India address critical mineral supply challenges and reduce import dependence. The sector could potentially meet up to 75% of domestic demand within 15 years. India is also expanding policies supporting recycling and domestic critical mineral production. The government has allocated INR 1,500 crore to boost critical mineral recycling capacity.
"The economics of urban mining is quite good due to multiple trends, including environmentally-friendly recycling, dependency on China due to geopolitical issues and the Hormuz standoff, the supply-demand gap as well as operational delays in setting up new mines," Nitin Gupta, Co-founder & CEO, Attero.
Eicher Motors has leased around 4 lakh square feet of industrial space in Chennai. The seven-year agreement involves a total rental outlay of about INR 74 crore. The facility is located at Casagrand Industrial Park, with rent starting at INR 82.45 lakh monthly. The expansion comes amid strong industrial and logistics leasing activity across major cities.
Apollo Tyres reported a multi-fold increase in consolidated net profit during the June quarter. Net profit reached INR 348.87 crore, compared with INR 12.88 crore a year earlier. Revenue from operations rose to INR 7,397.79 crore from INR 6,560.76 crore. The company attributed growth to strong demand and high manufacturing capacity utilization.
Commenting on the company's performance in the first quarter, Chairman, Onkar Kanwar said: "We delivered healthy revenue growth during the quarter, supported by robust demand across market segments and sustained high-capacity utilisation across our manufacturing network."
