Palfinger, an Austrian lifting solutions leader, has entered into a strategic partnership with TVS Mobility Group to boost its presence in India.
The collaboration includes a €30 million investment to set up a manufacturing facility in Pune, set to be operational by the end of 2027. This facility marks Palfinger’s largest localization effort since entering India in 2007.
As part of the agreement, TVS Mobility Group will serve as Palfinger’s end-to-end mobility partner, offering comprehensive support across supply chain, logistics, sales, service, spare parts distribution, and aftermarket services. This partnership moves beyond a typical distributor model, focusing on uptime and service responsiveness for customers, particularly in remote or infrastructure-heavy regions.

“Our goal is to get closer to the customer,” said Andreas Klauser, Palfinger’s CEO, highlighting India as a key growth opportunity under its Strategy 2030 Plus. The Pune facility will initially produce over 1,000 truck-mounted cranes annually, alongside critical steel components. These products will serve domestic demand as well as export markets across Asia-Pacific and beyond.
