My educational journey began in a quaint town in Haryana, specifically Bhiwani, where I received my foundational education. Later, I pursued my undergraduate studies in commerce at Kirorimal College, Delhi University. At a young age of 22, I achieved a significant milestone by becoming a Chartered Accountant on my very first attempt. Over the years, I have had the privilege of working in prominent companies within the Healthcare Industry such as Fresenius Kabi and Baxter and in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector with companies like Danone and McCormick. These experiences have molded me into a seasoned professional, equipping me with a robust understanding of finance, business dynamics, and operational intricacies.
I have assumed various roles throughout my career, including responsibilities in Financial Planning, Controlling, Commercial functions, International Taxation, and Supply Chain operations. These roles have collectively contributed to my expertise and preparedness to excel in the realm of business.
Could you tell us about your leadership experience in operations? Also, highlight the significant milestones you've reached in your career as a Chief Financial Officer.
In terms of my leadership experience in operations, I've built a solid foundation in business fundamentals early in my career, which has been instrumental in my rise as an industry leader.
My leadership style combines strategic thinking with a strong reliance on core principles, and I have garnered diverse operational experience in both the Healthcare and FMCG industries across various global markets, including India, Dubai, Europe, and the UK. Currently, I hold a key role at Fresenius Kabi Oncology India, a subsidiary of the German healthcare giant, Fresenius Group, where our mission is ‘Caring for Life’.
As for my career as a CFO, I've achieved notable milestones, including recognition as one of the CA Business Leaders 40 under 40 by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India in partnership with CNBC India. In the healthcare sector, I was honored as the Young CFO of the Year by Transformance, a testament to my contributions to the field. I assumed the role of CFO at the age of 36, highlighting my capabilities and dedication. My involvement as a panelist in various finance, supply chain, and procurement events has allowed me to contribute to industry knowledge sharing. In my CFO role, I've consistently aimed for financial and business improvements, adapted to the challenges of today's dynamic business environment, and played a pivotal role in digital transformation, automation, as well as successful acquisition and divestment projects. Additionally, I am also heading Supply chain and procurement functions.
As a business leader, how do you inspire your workforce to perform better. What is your guiding leadership philosophy?
In my role as a business leader, my approach to inspiring my workforce to excel centers around a flexible leadership philosophy that can adapt to diverse situations and challenges. Firstly, I place a strong emphasis on empathy and compassion for my team, recognizing the importance of understanding and supporting their needs. Integrity and ethics are non-negotiable aspects of my leadership, ensuring that our actions align with our values. I firmly believe in fostering a sense of vision and purpose, both for myself and the team, as it drives collective development and motivation.
Open and transparent communication serves as the cornerstone of my leadership style. Embracing a growth mindset and continuous development is crucial to keep our team members engaged and growing professionally. I also prioritize creating an inclusive culture that respects different cultures and perspectives. Lastly, I strike a fine balance between holding team members accountable for their responsibilities while also empowering them to take ownership of their work.

To navigate these hurdles effectively, we've embraced a strategy rooted in resilience, agility, and a strong sense of purpose.
