"We have the possibility of becoming the food bowl of the world," said Prime Minister Modi, calling for the need to make the focus and emphasis of the agricultural sector in the country on "high value farming."
The Prime Minister made the comment when he addressed the fifth national conference of the Chief Secretaries of all the states at the Paryavaran Bhavan in the capital. "We need to develop the sectors of horticulture, animal husbandry, dairying, and fisheries," said the Prime Minister."
The Prime Minister emphasized that the Conference takes place at a defining time when the country has launched a series of “next-generation reforms.” The Prime Minister asserted that the country has already gotten on board the “Reform Express,” which has largely been propelled by the youth bulge. To underscore the significance of the demographic advantage being leveraged by the government, he clarified
PM Modi emphasized the need for coordination between the Center and states to bring about speedy economic change. He urged state administrations to facilitate manufacturing, make business easy, and provide a favorable atmosphere for private investment. He said that all these are necessary to increase productivity, create employment, and make India more competitive in the international market.

The Prime Minister further emphasized the increasing significance of the service sector and appealed for further advancement in this area by the states to make India a giant in the service sector globally. The Prime Minister identified balanced growth in agriculture, manufacturing, and the service sectors for the attainment of sustainable development.
The conference, which gathers leading policymakers and administrators, seeks to harmonize state level agendas with national agendas, and facilitate cooperative governance as a vehicle for reform, sustained economic viability, and prosperity.
