On Wednesday morning, Finland President Alexander Stubb made a visit to India, and it is the start of his state visit that is supposed to help in improving the bilateral relations between the two countries.
On his arrival President Stubb was officially welcomed and received a Guard of Honour. KV Singh, the Minister of State in External Affairs was at the airport to receive him.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi received the Finnish President and said that he was sure the visit would help in elevating the India-Finland relations to new levels. Modi also stated on X (formerly Twitter), “Welcome to India, President Alexander Stubb. I fully agree with you, your visit will take India-Finland relations to new heights. I eagerly look forward to our meeting tomorrow and to your keynote address at the Raisina Dialogue 2026.”
President Stubb echoed the sentiment in a post on X, noting, “I will meet with President of India Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi as well as other members of the state leadership. The visit will further strengthen the relations between Finland and India including in the area of trade.”
President Stubb will be a Chief Guest and a Keynote Speaker at the illustrious Raisina Dialogue 2026, as a part of his visit. In India, he will have the top-level talks with the Prime Minister Modi and discuss the bilateral ties strengthening and regional as well as global challenges of mutual concern, including trade and economic collaboration.
Such visit highlights the increasing strategic cooperation between Finland and India, which is going to increase in other spheres.
