Manufacturing investment in Maharashtra is shaped by the Maharashtra industrial policy 2025 (MIISP 2025). It targets Rs 40 lakh crore of investment and 50 lakh new jobs.

• SGST-linked support: the policy uses gross SGST reimbursement, with caps by zone and classification. Group A areas such as Pune city can now claim up to 30 percent of investment over five years.
• Capital subsidy: priority and thrust sectors can receive up to 20 percent of eligible investment, capped at Rs 25 crore overall and Rs 5 crore a year.
• Interest and power support: interest subsidy is capped at Rs 1 crore a year and mostly unavailable in Groups A and B (e.g., Mumbai, Pune city, Nashik city). Power tariff subsidy starts from Group C (e.g., Raigad's Mangaon, Nashik's Sinnar-adjacent talukas) onwards.
• Employment-linked benefits: EPF reimbursement is tied to job creation, and technology-linked incentives are also offered.

• EV components and battery ecosystem: Pune's auto base and Nagpur and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar's new projects give suppliers anchor demand.
• Electronics and semiconductor supply chain: Ranjangaon's electronics cluster and the state's electronics export weight support component and assembly units.
• Specialty chemicals: Raigad and Thane offer mature infrastructure, and chemicals already make up about 10 percent of state exports.
• Aerospace and defense components: Nagpur and Pune combine precision engineering with growing defense demand. Nagpur's MIHAN zone now hosts Tata Advanced Systems making Boeing 787 structural components, the Dassault-Reliance JV assembling Falcon business jets, and Solar Industries' upcoming Rs 12,700 crore missile and artillery-ammunition complex. Pune, meanwhile, is anchored by Bharat Forge.
